Every note bought while signed in is listed in your account, and a note bought before you had one is attached automatically the first time you sign in with the same address. That is usually the faster route, and it does not depend on an email arriving.
What this form is for
Notes paid for with an address you no longer sign in with, and notes bought before accounts existed. The link we send is a signed address that works only for that note — which also means it is the credential: anyone holding it can edit that note, so treat it as you would a password.
